You won't actually improve your actual times with this, although you might feel more pull. Usually your throttle cable is fine, neither of the Maxima's in my family have ever had a loose feeling. Overtightening is also bad and will make your idle go crazy.

I tightened my throttle cable slightly when I cleaned the throttle body a month or two ago under the impression that it would tighten my gas pedal and increase low end, I was dead wrong. When I started the car, the idle was up to 2500rpm and my gas pedal was just as loose. Unless your throttle cable is EXTREMELY loose, which it will not be, you should leave it be. Tightening it will not benefit you at all, unless of course its a wet noodle.

there is a small plastic block uder the gas pedal, put there as a factory saftey procaution to keep you from actully going wot take it out and you shall feel like you have a little bit more extra throttle to play wit

I certainly wouldn't cut the throttle cable but after I "properly" adjusted mine the throttle was definitely more responsive. The manuals all say to loosen the locking nut and turn the adjusting nut until the throttle drum just begins to move - then back the adjusting nut out a turn or two and then tighten the lock nut. Hope this helps.

They recommend only tightening it if it's noticeably loose. If you tighten too much you have the potential of the cable stretching over a period of time and then u'll end up having to replace it.

well i dont have all the great mods you have yet. im trying to get weapon-r to e-mail me back about the ecu and intake testing they are performing out here in california. they haven"t e-mailed me back as of yet, maybe they already found a test car. but in any case im going to try to get intake first , then exughst just haven"t made my mind up yet on which one. wished my wheels hopped when i hit the gas.
