You mean that the optima batts wont work with the stock battery holder? I dont think it would be too hard to manufacture one- just a bar of alluminum with drilled holes.

You mean the Optima is too small for the OEM battery tie-down, right? What I did was cut out a retangular piece of wood (I painted it black, as well) to fit the bottom of the battery tray, put the Optima on top, and there you go - the Optima will now be raised up a bit & can be securely fastened with the OEM tie-down.

the optima batt is shorter than normal batts. So if thats the case, why not take off the tie rods (the 2 that screw into the battery tie-down bar) and cut the bottom shorter and rebend it back to a hook and tada- shorter tie down bar.

Optima batteries has 4 mounting screws at the bottom of the battery so you can mount it a different way if the top bar didn't fit on top of the battery. That is how I mounted mine.

Same here, and while I was at it I painted some other stuff too (radiator mounts, valve cover etc). It came out well, I'd take a pic but I'm at work right now so that's not possble .

Doesn't Optima have their own billet hold-down? I thought I remembered seeing one somewhere?
