HU Swap Options for 2009 Max with Tech Package & Navigation

I am looking for options as to what I can do to get rid of the stock bose system in my 2009 max. I have the technology and navigation packages with the HVAc controls below the radio.

At the very least I'd like to put in some new speakers, does the stock Bose system run at a specific ohm?

I did some searching but wasn't finding anything that answered my questions...

Thanks in advanced--Dinty01

The Bose system runs at a lower impedance than your typical 4ohm speakers. I swapped out the dash speakers with Infinity 2ohm drivers. Doing this made an immediate improvement to the harsh sounding Bose dash speakers.

Having an EQ would greatly help in taming the stock speakers. Since that was not an easy option I just put in some speakers that had smoother highs.

Gotcha, thanks for the info. I remember reading somewhere on here about the speakers running at a unique impedance, thanks for confirming that.

I wish we could have some kind of EQ with the stock setup.

BTW, I like your max, the equipment listed in your signature, is that in your max? I had a couple sets of Rainbow CS 265 speakers, loved them! I have a couple of the Arc Audio XXK series amps, I can't get rid of them, they are awesome amps. I have the Arc Audio amps paired with Image Dynamics subs, either an IDQ or an IDMAX. Sometimes I want to go back to the old car so I can have a nice system again, nothing too crazy but man do I miss turning it up and going for a nice drive....

Thanks . That's some nice equipment you have there yourself.

The equipment listed is in the 02. That system sounds very nice. It plays very clean, and can get pretty loud without losing composure. I actually lucked out and bought the XXK's new a little while back. I've had these same XXK's before, as well as a few others. I ran the Rainbow Germaniums for a while then went to the Profi's. These Rainbow's sound very smooth. Love the sound that the CAL 26 tweeter puts out.

In my 7th gen I have the stock setup, with the exception of the dash speakers & a sub. I'm running a Boston GTA-800M to a Boston G510RS (G5-10 sub) enclosure with the built in tunable radiator. I'm pretty content with the sound now.

Bose for the '99 Maxima had 1ohm impedance I believe.
I have no idea what it is for the 7th generation.
