I am trying to buy 2 axles as mine are about shot but i have a question in the matter. Are hlsd axles different from non hlsd? I'm about to buy a set but the seller said they are non hlsd axles but I have the limited slip in my car. I wanna clear this up before I buy them. Thanks for any help guys!

 

i do believe they are interchangeable. i know on a particular 4th gen we've installed both lsd and non-lsd (don't ask, lol) and used the same axle for both transmissions.

Yep, same. Just replaced my pass side not too long ago. I got mine from O'Reily Auto Parts and they did a price match with AutoZone at $69 I think. O'Reillys original price was ~$115

 

I've used the following axles In a locking and non locking 6mt now...

(All on 4th gens btw)

4th Gen 5MT open diff driver (not recommended)
4th gen 4AT open diff driver (Really not recommended)
5.5 Gen Open diff Driver
6th Gen locking and open diff driver

5.5 gen open diff passenger axle
5.5 Gen "locking diff" axle

My currents 5.5gen is using a 6th gen open diff driver and 5.5 gen open diff passenger on a locking diff sentra tranny w/ the maxima bellhousing swap (Talk about car confusion )

All of this information will be posted on my blog someday, I am compiling information on parts.
