200SE stalling

No problem driving to work in morn. Coming home temp about 90 degrees. Had multiple stalls each time starting to move out from traffic light, light foot on gas pedal. Restarted immediately. At cruise, had jerking when accelerating. Has happened couple times before but not constant problem. Recent tuneup. 118K miles.

Is your check engine light on? Codes? What year is your car? 2002? Your description says 200.

2002 Maxima. Codes are P0340 and P1800. Temperature does not seem to be a factor.

P0340 is related the Cam position sensor. This will cause stalling symptoms. You should pull the sensor and check that the tip is clean. Also check the harness to ensure it isn't grounded, etc.

P1800 is related to VIAS. You should check the vaccum lines to make sure they aren't crack, as well the vacuum tank.

It is a hall sensor so the tip being clean won't matter. If it is starting to give you several stalls a day it will probably leave you stranded soon if you don't change it. Easy job, takes two minutes once you figure out the wire harness pushes in in-line with the plug. Just make sure to get the right sensor, we have two. 0340 is the one closest to the firewall. If you go to autozone it is the straight one, they don't know it by bank.
