looking for more horsepower.

Anybody have any idea how I could upgrade my cams? Maybe any other ideas as far as hp upgrades besides cai and exhaust?
All input is welcomed and appreciated.

Headers, y pipe, high flow cat, catback, intake, mevi or 00vi, wideband o2, emanage and get dyno tuned, good struts and drop springs or coilovers, good rims and tires to go with those, upgraded clutch. All those are good and you'll have a really mean Maxima :-) hope this helps

Intake is worthless. The only intake that's worth anything is a belt driven intake.

If you're going to throw out terms like wideband o2 and clutch, you should explain that these are not power adders, but supporting parts that going along with the power adders.

And suggesting coilovers, good rims etc is irrelevant, the OP asked for power adders, not "what mods should I do to my car".

If you want power you need to swap intake manifolds if your staying na. Get headers and exhaust. Lighter crank pulley will help a little. Making sure your car is running as healthy as possible goes a long way. Check your codes even if there's no cel. Knock sensor code won't turn light on and will slow you down.

This. Make sure the engine is breathing right. It helps maximize the power u already have.

Also.

Like Wiz sd, read this:

All the answers are in there. Then post a more specific question.

Well I'm looking into either a 00vi or a mevi swap in it maybe even the 3.5vi swap. Which one would be the easiest and most cost effective?

easiest to find/most cost effective to buy: 00VI
easiest to install: MEVI

The 00VI/MEVI shouldn't really be compared to a 3.5 swap. Apples and oranges IMO.

MEVI sacrifices mid range to give you better top end.

00VI improves everything.

If MEVI or 00VI are what you are thinking about, then you should really do Y pipe as well. Y pipe is the best bang for the buck exhaust upgrade for a 4th gen. The 00VI/Ypipe will compliment each other to give you a much more lively top end while still retaining and improving the punchy midrange. All NA so bulletproof reliability remains.

Some people would go for headers. Powerwise compared to the Y pipe, headers are not much better, if at all. BUT, with equal length headers like the Cattmans, the sound will be un-believeable, as in delicious, wonderful, always want to hit the gas etc. Drawback to headers? expensive AND expensive install.

I've always loved the sound of the VQ30 motor. It really loves to rev.So headers was a must for me

if u dont get ahold of a mevi or oovi then u best bet is to learn the shift points as well. u really need a y pipe for ur first bolt on then u can go from their while making sure u pick up a emanage which will really make good use of the power adders
