Driver side window

I need someone to tell me how this driver side window works in the 02 se. If i pull it up so it automaticly goes up, it goes all the way up and then comes down like a 1/4 of the way. How, other then moving up the normal way, does this window work?

Who woulda thought there would be a reset switch for something like that? There's alot to learn with these cars I can see. This is the reason I always join a forum for every car I own.

My car's been doing this since I bought it. I looked into it a while ago (asked a dealer buddy) and decided to just leave it be. I smoke cigs, so it actually lowers the window just the right amount for me kinda works out perfectly

When this started happening I originally thought this was the only way to partially lower the window. Of course this is part of the safety feature to prevent crushing your dogs head if you're dumb enough to set him in your lap and also do an auto-close. When I wanted to close it, I had random luck with "tapping" the window with my fist while holding the control up. I thought I saw somewhere holding it up for 10? sec until it beeps was suppossed to work. Didn't, maybe another generation.

With an approaching storm and the driver window misbehaving I resorted to * GASP * reading the owners manual. It stated if you only pull up slightly you can control where it stops. Coincidentally, this also will shut it without the auto reverse kicking in. Works for going down, as well, if you aren't paying a toll and just want to crack the window.
