Vapor Canister Purge Valve

i am getting the 0705 code and i pulled off the Vapor Canister Purge Valve like was suggested in other threads, anyway everything seems to be freed up inside but then i hooked up 12volts to it and it did not click or anything...does this mean the thing is shot?..i would imagine i would hear clicking when hooking it up to the battery?.....thanks for the input!

If it's nice and clean and still doesn't open/close its probably time for a new one.

well when i took it off, i was expecting to find it froze up, but when i used a screw driver to reach inside and move the slider thing up and down it moved nice and easy...but when i put 12 volts to it nothing moved inside...no clicking or nothing..so im assumiming the electrical mechanism is gone?
sound reasonable?

Fingers crossed.

If the pintle is free and springs back to open on its own, and does not close when powered, the windings are shot.

BTW the valve attached to the canister is the vent control valve.

Good for you. Check the fsm instead of what dummies on the net are calling it. The purge valve is on the intake manifold.

Just saying how that particular part is worded if one wants to buy one on ebay. So what do "dummies on the internet" call the canister purge control valve? Cause that search comes back with zero results.
