Just bought a maxima! Have a few questions

First, let me introduce myself,

My name is Anthony, but most people call me by my last name "LaCross"

Just picked up a gen5.5 maxima today, and i've got a few questions

1. My power windows and locks all do not work. Any ideas? I figure it must be something central.

2. What are my options as far as replacing the shift ****? the plastic part on mine feels very cheap. Could i use a g35 ****?

Did you check the fuses and see if any are open?

welcome to the org!

For the window problem, check a 40 amp fusible link (fuse) that is under the hood by the battery. The cover has it labeled "FL40A POWER WINDOW"

If you don't already have the Nissan Factory service manual (FSM) you can download it from here:

BCM (body control module) controls those. could be faulty, shorted out, unplugged

Check out the link I provided and see if any of these troubleshooting tips will help..

I take it you are 6 speed. If so are you speaking about the reverse lockout level on the shifter? If so it does feel cheap but if broken only the same car will work. For the shift **** itself people have tried different ones and if the reverse lockout didnt work with it some disabled the lockout feature. I myself bought a brand new shift **** for nissan for about 50 I think give or take.
