is this body shop trying to screw me over?

My car is in the shop due to an accident.
my carbon fiber hood is coming this friday, and they're saying that after the hood arrives, it'll take another week to finish the car. Every other part of the car is there. they won't start painting the car or anything...until the hood is on the car, so that they can align everything. But I didn't think the hood mattered because it comes ready to install.
Do they really need to wait for the hood?
WTF?
I want my car back!!

1st rule about bodyshops. Nagging them about only 1 week only encourages them to do a crap job.

Yes, every part must be on the car before it gets painted. Edges must be cut in first and all cracks must be aligned prior to paint. Painting is always the final step. Especially a hood. That piece has to fit perfect, so adjustment to fenders, grills and cowling all must be made to make the fit perfect.

And listen to Jeff, DON'T RUSH THEM!!

ok...
I hear ya.
I was just anxious to get the car back, and since I was getting the carbon Fiber hood, I didn't think they had to wait for the hood, cuz it comes ready to install.

If I may ask, how much did you pay for the CF hood? Did you buy it through the group deal via Chebosto/MaximaDriver.Com?

CF hood

Yes...
I got it through Cheston.
At the time the price was at $500+100(freight)

Now Fiberimages told me that the price has gone up. It's now $645+$100
If you're interested, you might want to check with Cheston first.
