Does anyone else have a moonroof squeak when opening and closing the moonroof, its really loud on initial open and the end of closing cycle. tried to spray wd40 but no luck, any specific area I should be focusing on? I should mention that I have the glass roof (panoramic roof) Maxima SV premium package

 

Mine just started doing that as well. It's intermittent. It's humid here 90% of the time so it's not a problem but it's been squeaking louder and louder. I believe there is like an oil or grease to put on it but I don't know where to find it. I haven't tried WD-40 however.

 

WD-40 is too thin and wouldn't last long. Just need a decently thick grease

 

Last time I brought my car in for service they greased the sunroof moving parts, now I didn't know anything about this until I got home so I don't know why they did it because I didn't have a squeak, but next time u bring it in for service ask them to grease it. Maybe they've had complaints so they took it upon themselves to grease it out of preventative maintenance

 

Have any of you had problem with moonroof making a popping creaky sound when roof is closed and you drive over somewhat bumpy road? Is this common with Premium dual moonroof?

 

I have the same problem too. It only does it during the summer months when the temperature gets hotter. During the winter months, it makes no noise.

 

The popping / creaking sound has been addressed by Nissan with a TSB. Contact your dealer about having the TSB done.

 

mine chatters a little bit on closing...I wonder if that is covered under the TSB. Thanks guys

 

The TSB I found seems to apply to '09-'10 models and re-torquing headliner attachments. Think it could still apply to '13's? (I'd like to think they resolved it for later years!)

 

+1 I have a '12 and mine does this noise intermittently. My friends always say my car is passing gas... Seriously, though, it does get aggravating and I cringe when I back out awaiting the noise.

 

I know this is off topic but everytime I open up my sunroof and have the AC on... As soon as I open up the sun roof more air starts blasting out of the vents is that strange or normal? Lol

Its like the car knows the sun roof is open

Propa- have you ever had your dealer listen to or try to fix the 'popping' noise?

 

I have a major problem with my dual moonroof (panoramic) creaking and I cannot figure it out. It's Maxima 2012
There is a service bulletin for that. NTB09-132.
Can you give any information how to fix it myself, or send me this bulletin?
