Non-HID 2012 Maxima H11B | XB35 or XB55?

About to pull the trigger on some morimoto's:

Quick Questions:

Canbus Harness - Included - Needed?
Relay Harness - Adding to order!

And Last but not least 55W or 35W -- Stock non HID lenses.

Thanks!

This is the kit that i used in my car. Now the bulbs that come with the kit have the ground wire shadow. It does not bother me because anything over the stock halogens are 100 times better and I went with the 5000K color. The relay kit comes with this setup also. I did not use mine and have had zero issues with the kit. Enjoy being able to see at night

That is the H11B kit though (which means the ground wire is on the bottom) so I should be safe there -- so you dont have the canbus adapter correct? I am getting the relay kit.

Are your xb35 or xb55 ballasts/bulbs

No relay no canbus and the 35Watt setup. You can't leave your lights on auto because they will spaz out on you. You will like them when you get them installed

Im pretty sure, that's because you don't have the relay installed -- im pretty sure thats what makes sure your ballasts don't burn out.

I manually trigger my lights though because I love to turn on my fogs with my lights

As long as you have the newest ballasts from morimoto which have the lower starting current draw, the auto on function should work 100%. When i had the older morimoto ballasts, the auto on function only worked half the the time (only one light would come on). Also, the xb35 bulbs still have a shadow effect.... its not as distinct as the h11's but the light is definitely not uniform. Most people wouldn't notice though...

The stock HIDs that come on the Maxima have a shadow effect as well, but you do not notice it unless your car is facing down on an incline as the headlights and its intensity is directly within 15 feet of the car.

Thanks for the info man, which current draw is the right one, and your last point there confused me a little bit, isn't it the H11B's that I want?! that place the ground wire on the bottom, or do I want the H11's with ground wire up.

Up is bad, down is better -- do I have that right?

Also should I go 35W or 55W on the lows -- I dont want to be a d1ck with super brights, but haven't seen anyone to ask locally about what they put in theirs to see 'in real life'

Those are D2S correct, ground wire pointing up

Sorry, that was a typo. Yes, you want the H11b's not the H11's. The newest morimoto ballasts with the lower current draw should have the ignitors as a separate component. In the older versions, the ignitors were combined with the ballasts in a single unit. I have 35W and i think its perfectly ok... they are much better than the original halogens.

Can you check my ebay link 2012maximaS, I could ask the seller myself I just dont now if they are the 'new' or 'old' style. I believe the listing lists the current draw, could you compare to yours, I am low on cash (aint we all) and want to make sure I get the good stuff for my money...

Thanks in advance dude!

You do not need the CANBUS unit, and I recommend you to purchase directly on the TheRetrofitSource website. It will be cheaper through there with the coupon code "STEADYMOBBIN," it'll give you a nice 15-20% discount and you are purchasing directly from the manufacturer. This will make warranty claims much easier to process.

The 4500K Morimoto XB35 bulbs will offer the brightest output as well.
