possible coils go bad at 1 after another?
So my car was parked up for almost 2 years. Brought it out and a coil was dead. Changed it and a week later another went. Now almost a month later I think another is going. Starting to get the same misfiring symptoms.
Is it possible that they all can go in sequence? They are probably about 7 years old. All OEM and updated.
I have no code yet but will try to trip it tomorrow.

That can and does happen, I've heard about it hundreds of times and not just on the Maxima.
Do you have a 5th gen or 5.5?
If you have a 2000 5th gen = you have to get the 2001 OEM coils only, they have a different part# from the 2000 coils and are the newer updated ones. Just like the 2001 updated MAF vs. 2000, and I've had some dealers tell me they are the same, only to point out to the parts dude that they have different part #'s and the 2001 MAF has a green dot on it.
If you have a 2001+ though w/ updated coils, I'd say you might have a bigger underlying issue.

Had a feeling that was the case ^^^
2000 coils are no good, frankly it's a shame the stealerships still sell them.
Definitely switch to 2k1 coils if you want no more problems, and you already have the part #'s thanks to Dennis. As for them going out one by one, that's just a case by case scenario depending on the car and where you live (hot climates suffer way more from this fate).
FYI, the grey dot is indeed a way to tell. But I've seen 2000 coils with a grey dot as well, so best bet is make sure you go by the 2001 part #'s.

This may in fact be my issue. Having starting issues. 3 month old battery. Car starts when given a boost. Disconnect + terminal and it stays on. Im leaning towards an altenator diode issue draining the battery.
