Fuel additive/Fuel injector cleaner

Hey guys any of you use any of those fuel additives/injector cleaners that they sell at Strauss or Pep Boys?

I'll buy them every now and then when I'm at the store but do they really do anything?

I have found the Lucas brand and the Chevron ones work well as cleaners and de-carbonizers. What is the reason you want to use a fuel additive? Are you using the proper fuel for your car? Any drivability concerns?

I used Chevron gas exclusively which contains Techron, an excellent cleaner, so no need to add anything extra.

pump gas already has additives in it, the fuel injector cleaner in stores does next to nothing and can foul spark plugs.

Aftermarket fuel additives
NISSAN does not recommend the use of any aftermarket fuel additives (for example, fuel injec- tor cleaner, octane booster, intake valve deposit removers, etc.) which are sold commercially. Many of these additives intended for gum, varnish or deposit removal may contain active solvents or similar ingredients that can be harmful to the fuel system and engine.

Read your manual peoples!

Just curious I use to have to have Altima 2.5 and a lot people said they used upper cylinder lubricant. Is that needed with the 3.5s or is that on the same basis as the above mentioned

Nope no problems, just wondering if they actually do anything.
I almost always use 93 except for when it shoots way over 4 bucks a gallon, then I drop it to 91, but never below that.

Nope. They are worthless. Gov't mandates cleaners in the fuel.
