Winter wheels and tires?

I'm thinking about purchasing a 2010 Maxima SV with 19" wheels. I want to find a smaller package for the winter. Will 17" wheels and tires fit over the brakes of the sport package? If not do they make 18" steel wheels for these cars?

I have 17's on my 2012 for the winter. Go to tirerack and search for wheels for your car. They will tell you what fits and what doesn't.

I don't believe they make steelies bigger that 16".

Thanks, I'll check them out. I've done business with TireRack in the past. Just hoping to find an inexpensive set of wheels, I already have 4 good winter tires that were on my Cadillac STS I can reuse.

You can also try discount tires, they normally have good deals as well.

I found these on Discount Tire Direct, I've done business with them as well. These are 17" steel wheels. I'm wondering if they would give any issue. also I'm curious, do I need to purchase TPMS for any new wheel I buy?

i didn't get the TPMS's for mine. I drive around with the tire pressure light on in the winter, and I can't monitor my pressures from inside the car. Doesn't bother me though. I just get out my pressure gauge every week or two and check them.

That's good to know. I wouldn't mind not being able to check pressure during th winter. that would save me $160. thanks for the info.

Awesome. I was just about to make a thread asking if 17" steelies will fit our gen7 max.

F yeah. I like to have a bit more sidewall for winter driving. The tires are cheaper too.
