Factory amp or not in 2012 maxima s?

I'm looking at upgrading to a new radio for my 2012 maxima S and the salesman is asking if the car has a factory amp. I don't know.. how do I tell? This is the upgrade I'm looking at buying -

I would assume that if you haven't altered it at all, then it is factory.

If your talking about the rear "subwoofers" then yes there's a little amp back there.

As far as that unit your looking at goes, I don't think it can be intergrated as a simple swap. But if it's done a lot of people here will be interested

The Bose system has an amp in the trunk under the rear deck. If the speakers in your rear deck say bose on them then you have that system.

Ya those 6x9s in back are considered the subwoofers, we know they aren't but that's what they call them. If u look in the trunk of an s model you'll see it's setup the same as the Bose system with a amp.. Also I'm pretty sure the s model system is made by clarion so it's half decent

So ppl's with the base S can tap into the factory amp and draw power to an aftermarket sub..??

Can this be confirmed...?

I doubt it's enough power to handle a sub, maybe a small 8" sub...everybody with the s model on here look in your trunk under the rear deck carpet you'll see the little amp I'm talking about

Actually you can consider them subs, kind of lol. According to the FSM, the rear deck speakers split off to a small low signal converter or low pass filter which goes to the stock amp. All other 6 speakers will run off the headunit.

I have a 2013 Maxima S and swapped the speakers in them so I did some research to see how the system was wired.
