Broken Transmission Mount Causing Notchy Shifting?

I have a 98 5spd and I know that the transmission mount is busted. But is it the cause of the notchy shifting? It wasn't like this before I put all new bearings in my transmission, but I don't think that would cause it. I know the mount is busted because it happened when I removed it to take the transmission out. I would think that the mount being broken would let the transmission sit low and put pressure on the input shaft, causing the shifting to be a little notchy. Am I right in thinking that, or should I look elsewhere? Either way, the mount is being replaced. This will just determine if I get a STS right now or wait. Thanks for any input!
