got a replacement gauge cluster, but...

I think the place I ordered it from sent me the wrong one. I bought it from an auto salvage place. The gauge cluster I wanted was from a '96 SE with 55k miles. The mileage was right, but it's black, not the white that SE should have, plus it had screws in front of the gauges. Correct me if I'm wrong, but screws are only found on 97+ right? Other than that, everthing is fine. As long as it works right? Their website and invoice stated it's from a '96 SE. I'm not going to mess with the needles ever again!

If its not white, its not from an SE no matter WHAT they tell you. I have a 98 and YES, there are screws. I think 97-99 has screws. You dont have a 96 SE cluster, sounds like a 97-99 GLE/GXE cluster. Keep it if you dont mind, but they cheated you..

Are you sure about the orange needles?? I think you are incorrect. My 96 SE does not have orange needles.

Do you mean like the 2 little screws on each of the respective gauges? My 96 has those, or DID before I installed indiglos.

Earlier SE's had reverse black/white gauges similar to the numberings(I have a 95 SE). Then, they changed to orange needles, also threw in a digital odo. I think the orange needles started with 97 SE's, not sure when the digital odo started.

I'm talking about the two little screws right on the gauges. You have to remove the screws if you want to put the indiglo gauges on then screw them back on. All I know was my 96 didn't have the screws.
