Question What is the best Cold Air Intake for my 2010 SV?

I have been looking around at different Intakes, and am liking the K&N the best, but wanted to hear what others think? What did you put in yours and how was the installation?

Before someone jumps on for it, there technically isn't a cold air intake for our cars unless u custom make, just the short ram intakes. I just have a kn drop in filter and I'm satisfied, reading around the forum though seems a lot of people like the r2c intake

The stock intake is a cold air intake technically speaking. I like my K&N drop-in for this reason.

I think the AEM is the best design. It has a snorkel that sits right behind the grille similar to factory but much better

I got a k&n CAI and the car sounds way different and better! Worth the price!

I love my stillen. Sounds great just if u putt around and keep rpm's low it has a bit of drone. Overall sounds nice can't say it gained any horsepower tho.
It does look great installed. They have a sale now too code march14

Quite frankly all the SRIs will give you an annoying drone at low RPMS but it sounds deeper and more aggressive than Stock at higher RPMS. My choice would be R2C though because it's the cheapest of all the SRIs at about $175 shipped and it also has the biggest filter of all the SRIs available for this car. AEM is "OK" but it is not compatible with the 2009-11 maxima (Kinda stupid if you ask me) and their system also cost like $350.. Stillen is just a K&N (uses same K&N oiled filter). Injen isn't bad and neither is Takeda but I would still just stick with the R2C for the price and sized filter

I understand that getting an SRI is not going to necessarily give me better HP or torque, but am more interested in hearing the intake, especially when i get on it, and making in sound more aggressive. on top of that, having more air sucked into the engine is always nice too

Tons of intake threads in here man. Search around a little bit and dig up old threads. No real "cold air intakes." only SRI made for our maxima. They all suck hot air, unless you relocate the battery to the trunk and custom fabricate a true cold air intake by bending piping and rigging one. If you go back about 50 pages you'll find all the answers to all the questions you have. Just give it a shot. This 7 gen forum has been here for over 5 years and all the questions you have, have been asked and answered before. Do a little searching in the forum and you'll find all the info you could want. Good luck

more warm air, which is less dense than colder air so not really a benefit.

It's one thing to think you want sound over power but I recall prior OP posts indicating they felt or perceived low end torque loss with aftermarket SRI's. The last thing I would want to sacrifice with this heavy car.

Go with stillen. They went the extra mile to change the format of the Sri several times before they got it down perfectly. It sounds like a beast but just like ghozt said no real gains from it. Remember your in a maxima not a supra
