New '10 owner! Bearing and other noises

Hey all!! I just got a certified 2010 Nissan Maxima S - loving it so far!! I came from an '05 Scion TC and have been eyeing the 7th gens for a few years now...

Drives great and all until I came across this forum with some potential issues...

1 - I'm not sure if I could have a bearing problem as mentioned in one of the sticky threads here - can some people help me diagnose per my video I've recorded below? This was recorded when the car was warmed up for a good 8-10 minutes idling in park.

2 - 2nd video shows I have a rattle somewhere when revving up to 3K - 4K RPMs in idle. I thought it could just be the heat shield of the exhaust or downpipe? I'm not sure...

I just bought this car on 03/05 from a Nissan dealership ... now that I've come across this forum and read some more stuff about the 7th gens... I'm a little worried!

Any insight would be helpful!!

Stop the guessing and send a sample of your engine oil to be analyzed. Relatively inexpensive diagnostic tool.

Engine sounds normal to me, these injected engines have a fair amount of ticking as the injectors cycle on-off.

The rattle down below might just be a heat shield.

As said earlier, a Blackstone Labs analysis of the oil should resolve any concerns you have about the engine health.

I've never heard of that site / company... very interesting !! I will definitely give that a shot;

I will actually be taking the car back to the dealership tomorrow (Monday) and have them take a look at that, as well as another TSB about the "low vibration" when 20mph-45mph to re-flash the ECU.

My statement that the Maxima engine was Direct Injection was incorrect. The fuel injectors do make noises, but I was wrong to suggest that we have DI engines!

My apologies for spreading BS

received service today....

So i took it in to the dealership just this morning ; Heatshield was loose, they removed one, added two new ones, 3 new bolts, added some "clamps" ? - all is well now, no rattle.

They didn't want to the ECU flash per the TSB of "low vibration" as that didnt apply to my vehicle. Meh - it drives fine! lol

The bearing wasn't looked at, but I have the remaining factory warranty that transferred to me so no worries.

you just bought the car just talk with your sales person about that second video. it is probably something simple. the 1st video I see nothing wrong sounds normal to me. they should at least look at it for free since you just bought it from them. or just show them the video. you seem too worried. you have a 120k 10 year warranty.

edit: i just saw the car is also certified......... just make a trip to the dealer.
