Hey guys,
I have been dealing with some issues with my 2002 Maxima GLE. It has 182k miles and i need to get to 200k if possible. Here are my issues and I'm not sure if they are all related but I'll start in the order they occurred.

1.Front valve cover gasket was leaking but I fixed that.
2.Rear valve cover gasket has been leaking about a quart a month for about 7 months. It causes the leaked oil to smoke a little when the engine gets hot.
3.The cruise control stopped working completely.
4.The sunroof stopped working completely.
5.The horn when I remote lock the car won't beep. If i press the horn on the steering however it works fine.
6.Half of my headlights don't work. Pretty much only one fog light but my high beams seem to work fine.

Like I said, not sure if they are all related but it sure sounds it.

Let me know what you guys think and if there is anything I can do to troubleshoot it.

The car should make it to 200k miles no problem, unless it has been abused.
1. Good
2. Re-seal the rear valve cover. You have to take off the intake manifold first, but it is not too hard to do.
3. Have you checked the components of the cruise control to see which one might be faulty?
4. Check your fuses and relay.
5. Do the blinkers flash when you lock the car with the remote? If they do, push the lock and unlock key of the remote together and hold them for few seconds.
6. On the lights, I would check the bulbs first.

 

Thank you so much for responding. I'll check everything when I get back from work. I bought the car with a bunch of miles so its kind of like I'm bringing it back to life. The bulbs in the front will flicker real fast then go out so I'm not sure if its the bulb. I'll definitely try the lock trick. I have to find where the cruise control components are. I just thought it was weird everything started going at the same time. Thanks again tho. I'll let you now how things go.
