Bought a 2003 Maxima, questions about replacing Stereo + Security + buttons on nav?

I used to own a '95 Maxima but was having too many problems with it (rotor mount, washer pump died, shaking at idle, etc.) so I bought a 2003 Maxima that was fully loaded. I want to replace the stereo system on the car right now with the one from my 95 Maxima.

1) My stereo on the Maxima has USB + Aux cable + Radio which is all I really want. Can I just pull out the one on the maxima somehow and put it into the new one? To be clear, I'm not talking about the sound system, just the thing in front where you choose radio stations/volume.

2) The Nav system has a few buttons missing. Apart from using a flathead all the time to do anything on it, is there a way I can get the buttons? If I have to remove the nav I'm fine with that, I use my iPhone as a GPS anyway.

3)My old '95 got "robbed" and returned 2 times. No damage was done so I have no idea how they got into the car and drove it, but I haven't moved. Police said it was most likely they had a key. On the 2003 Maxima I have the key with the serial # on it which is the authentic one I assume, but can someone easily break in and drive the car? Should I look into getting an aftermarket alarm again or is the built in security effective?

Thanks in advance

To confirm, you have an 03 with OEM Factory Nav, and you want to replace it with the aftermarket stereo that is in your 95?

1. If the above is true, you cannot change the factory nav unit in your 03 with anything except the same replacement factory nav unit.

2. See #1, same response. Perhaps a junkyard replacement faceplate from the same unit

3. The 03 cannot be stolen unless the thief has a key that is programmed to your car. This is due to the immobilizer system. There is a chip in the key that must be proximity present to the ignition cylinder, that gives the immobilizer system the 'ok' to start the car.

The thieves were probably just kids looking for a quick joy ride considering it was returned to the same block in front of a fire hydrant both times. There aren't any serious car robberies here (broken glass or anything of the sort)

1. Yes, I don't want to change the nav unit. I basically want to change the radio. The one in my 1995 maxima just pops out and there's a slot kind of thing it sticks into. Is it the same on the 2003 maxima? To be clear, here's what I'm talking about: http://www.hitechserv.com/images/nis...igation-02.jpg on that image it's below the nav system

2. So I can't just buy the buttons anywhere? Hmm...I might try to just 3d print them. Somebody wants to charge $25 per button on eBay.

3. Good to know, I should probably get a dupe then. I can go to any Nissan dealership right?

1. You cannot just change the lower radio part for a couple reasons. The audio wiring is tightly coupled with the Nav in terms of speed adaptive volume control, voice input and instructions, etc. Since this is not possible, there has been no demand, and thus no dash kits available to make it look nice even if you were to get through the wiring and mounting.

2. Not that I'm aware of.

3. You can get the keys off eBay or any low-cost outlet, however the dealer will have to program them. They charge the same (1 hour labor) to program 1 key or 5, so better buy a couple and leverage the programming. I have heard isolated instances of certain locksmiths being able to do programming, but have never confirmed myself. You can check that out as an option.
