Question about 2000 i30 exhuast.

What's up guys. I been doing a little research on my car. Because I have to codes I'm trying to get rid of. Codes are p0420 p0430. Found out both codes are for my pre cats bank 1 & 2. And another thing I found out my car is cali spec,I do not have a o2 sensor after my main cat.

Now my question is I found a guy that was parting out a 2001 maxima gle, California spec. Ended up buying both pre cats with o2 sensors.

If the cars are only one year apart and same spec. I shouldn't have a problem putting them on right?

I doubt it.

P0171 is "Fuel Injection System Function (Lean) Bank 1"

Bank 1 is the side by the firewall. Are you using your original O2 sensors or ones that were in the y-pipe when you bought it? Because you probably have a bad O2 sensor.

Im using the ones that where on the ypipe that I bought. Yea I figure its probably a bad o2.
Ima just change it. Its bank 1 sensor 1 current ? Will a Exhaust leak cause the problem too?

p0138 p0136

Ok, so yesterday I decided to gut my front pre cat bank 2, to be exact. To clear the 430 code. I did the spark plug fouler trick. And put the fouler on the bank 2 sensor 2 red wire. Drove about 60 miles. Now cel popped up throwing codes p0138 p0136. Did some research and both codes are for the same o2. Bank 1 sensor 2 white wire? So the question is was I supposed to put foulers on that sensor too? Or is the sensor failing on me. Thanks

You need to use non fouler to both secondary 02 sensor to get rid of the code
( 02 sensor with white wire and 02 sensor with red wire: California emission spec.
