the new murano is out and looks pretty good IMO. Nissan went aggressive.

I'm sure the maxima will have very similar design traits, for sure it will have the V motion front grille.

Not sure I like that look, they need to get rid of that tooth and just make a nice sick looking black grill

That grille is ugly as ****.

I believe all the future Nissan vehicles will have it.

We'll have time to see if it grows on us. If not, will likely be one of the first mods.

Right now I like it better Acura's earlier chrome tooth and the 6th gen tooth.

Where some see a tooth, I see an opportunity.

I will go with the tooth for a while, thinking about how it looks.

Then I will cover the tooth with black plastic and go with that for a while and think some more.

If still not satisfied, I will have the tooth professionally painted the same color as the body paint on the car.

After a few months with that set-up, if still not satisfied, I will look at aftermarket grilles.

In a way, that grille simply invites modders to think outside the box. I have no doubt that some very attractive mods will be found.

Imo it will be very similar to the murano and rogue of which they did a great job on.

Its not going to literally look like a V, but more of Nissans interpretation of the drop down grille.

Gotta give props to Nissan for stayng original in their design philosophy and following through on their main design theme.

Good thoughts. I will have to live with this grille a while before making up my mind. There is no question I like it better than the Acura tooth. This Nissan grille is more of a 'bar' than a 'tooth.' I also like this grille better than the 6th generation grille.

If I buy my 8th gen in the Brilliant Silver color, I almost surely will change nothing with the grille, as it will go very well with the body color of the car.

If I buy my 8th gen in white (most likely), I will probably leave the bar silver, as white is not a good grille color, and covering the bar in black on a white car would make the car look like a large-mouth bass (or a Ford).

If I buy any other color Maxima, I may try turning the bar black or making it body color.

But the more I look at it, the less-bothered I am by what Nissan seems to be doing with this grille.

Someone on one of the articles who sounds like an insider says it will look closer to the tesla sedan.

Nissan is also emphasising the floating roof like the gtr, the humped quarter panel section and the ever so popular boomerang shaped lights.

Remember the altima was a very subtle version of the allure concept, whereas the murano came very close to its concept.

Im beginning to believe the next maxima will be a sedan version of the new murano.

The redesigned 2015 Maxima will reach U.S. showrooms this fall, Nissan North America Chairman Jose Munoz said at the New York auto show Wednesday.

like it or not, this new design for the max and murano are very very aggressive.

Nissan has a tendency to do strange aggressive things. The company can sometimes be characterized as bipolar lol. But from strange minds sometimes come something very big!

it definitely carries very original design characteristics so u have to give nissan props for that, it also definitely kills it's direct competitor toyota avalon in every way possible.

AGREED.

I personally LOVE the look of the new Murano. I had never before thought of getting one, but if the circumstances ever change, the new Murano is on the short-list.

The 8th gen won't be in my price range for a long while, but when my 4th gen kicks the bucket, 8th / 9th gen will be my first look as a replacement.
