Alloygators Installed! (Pics)

These things not only protect the wheel but they cover up Plasti Dip that may have peeled up on your rim AND protect your wheel from curb rash:

Looked this product up and it's in the UK. Did you have to order from UK? Do they come in different colors or did you have to paint to match? What is your knowledge on the Rim Blades and Rim Bands product?

I did have to order from the UK yes and they come in many colors. These are much higher quality when compared to the Rim Ringz etc since the others are installed with 3M adhesive backing...the AlloyGators actually are installed with clips and by taking the air out of the tire and inserting the productbtween the wheel and tire by making your way around the rim with a rubber mallet. Definitely more installation time but to me it is worth it to have a more quality protector in place.

Here is the site:

Thanks for the information. My rims are jacked up right now from all the potholes. Was thinking about ordering these after I fix mine up but I'm probably just going to end up getting other rims at some point.

tested at legal highway speeds....means 140km/hr in England (87 MPH) unless they've changed something....

I routinely exceed this speed when passing on the 401 HWY in Ontario, so I won't be adding this product to my wish list.

If I ever hit a curb going 87mph then curb rash will be the least of my worries!

Point taken. However my concern is more about the ability of the insert to stay seated or not allow the tire bead to come off in a high speed manouver.

I believe it will. After seeing how much goes into getting them set between the clips and the overall depth behind the wheel....I feel pretty good about them myself!
