i would go with i30 simply because there are not a ton of them on the road like the maxima.

I think the Infiniti looks better (I have had both in the past).

All Maximas and I30s have the same engine. The SE, or sport edition, has a sportier suspension and bigger rims.

Maxima SE = I30T

The bigger rims of the SE actually make the car slower than its GLE or GXE counterpart.

5 hp difference may seem like something. Put it another way, that's a 2% improvement over 225 HP. Are you really gonna feel that?

If you want the ultimate SE or I30T in terms of performance, you would get 5MT or 6MT (manual transmission)

Definitely. The cars you're referring to weren't offered in manual transmission and the auto boxes in them are fairly tragic from a sporting point of view. So 5 HP difference is going to be even less noticeable with the added drivetrain loss of the auto.

If you can find an I30T with a manual, get it. They're pretty rare but they exist, otherwise there's nothing performance wise that should sway your decision one way or another on the I30 vs the GLE.

I like the Maxima's look better, just never warmed up to the tail lights and more rounded look on the I30. It should actually be a tad slower as it weighs 150 to 300 pounds or more depending on model I30. The reason the I30 as well as the 01 Anniversary Editions have 227hp vs 222 is because they had a less restrictive muffler than the others ;-)

I30 is a few hundred pounds heavier. Therefore the best thing might be getting a 5MT Maxima. On the other hand all i30s come auto
