put my Y pipe on today

Took me about 2 and a half hours. I hate working on old rusted exhaust. Everything was a rusted mess. Did I mention I hate old rusted exhaust? Install went pretty smooth, one of the studds came out of the rear exhaust manifold and working on my back I couldn't get it to go I straight so the rear bank only has 2 bolts on it for now. I was really surprised at how much more room there is under ther now! Sounds good with my 2.5 catback. It's maiden voyage will be soon when I leave for work. Actually excited for my 25 mile drive haha

throttle response is much quicker. It also seams to run smoother, but that may be in my mind. But I do have a question for the maxima gurus, the factory Y-pipe bottle necks pretty severely just before the O2 sensors on both banks. Only thing I could think of that they would do that is to maybe crate higher velocity before entering the precats? But all in all my car now sounds nicer (other then a drone around 2500 rpm), has a better top end, and the throttle response is better.

Congratulations! I just installed a Y-pipe a couple of weeks ago. I'm finishing up some other restoration items before I get to hear it run.

Did you install a high-flow cat? What type of muffler are you using?

Any pictures?

If you have a photobucket account, download the app on your phone.

By far the absolute best mod I have put on the car :-). I'm not saying you should do it, but you should do it
