First Oil Change?
My SA has me booked to come in at 5,000 miles. I bought new with 8 miles, and I honestly think that for the first oil change at 5,000 is a bit too long. Either way, I am taking it slowly for the engine break-in.
Under normal driving conditions I believe the owners manual recommends 5000 miles or 6 months. Whichever comes first. If you want to maintain your powertrain warranty better follow the manual.

If you haven't changed it yet, change it. And don't go synthetic yet (if you're planning on doing that). Wait till the first two or three changes are out of the way before switching to synthetic. But ya, change it now, and then you're good for another 4-5k miles before you should do it again.
Random tip. Most dealers have a secret customer satisfaction rule. . . If they don't finish your oil change In 30 minutes or less it's free. 1 hour on weekends. I only use this if the service manager lectures me about my mods lol
Depends on your driving conditions. The Owner's manual lists oil change intervals for normal and severe service. My experience with other cars that have engine oil life indicators shows that the Nissan intervals are too short. Hopefully the 2015 model will bring the car up to date with engine oil monitors, blind spot detection, lane departure detection and automatic breaking.
PS My 2005 Buick had a engine oil monitor that averaged 8000 miles between oil changes

Check with the dealership service dept. to find out the correct milage on the first change, and see if there are free oil changes that came with the purchase. I got 8 free changes with my purchase (used) and they change the oil every 5000 miles and do a 50 point inspection each time, plus a hand soap and water wash. I personnally cannot see paying for something when the dealership offer's to do the same job and for free. I have a great relationship with my dealership, built up over 25 years. This goes a long way when it comes getting great service.
