Anyone change out there whole sunroof assembly?

Oops, Anyone change out THEIR* whole sunroof assembly? My sunroof is leaking, drain tray broke, and the whole thing makes a creaking sound all the time. SO, I am thinking of getting one out of a salvage yard and replacing the whole assembly. Ive already removed the headliner and have access to all the bolts. I have not bought a replacement unit yet.

Anyone done this? Or any thoughts on this being done?

Thanks,
Matt

I was supposed to remove the one from my '99 SE "parts car" but I haven't yet. You have to take out the headliner I believe.

Yes, I have already taken the headliner out. I mentioned that in the original post. Im wondering about the experience others have had with this swap if anyone has done it.

From the how to's on sunroof service, it looks like that cover it and more. They take the entire assembly out and take it apart. Looks straight forward un bolt and bolt back on.

Ive done a full swap.

Went to get a cleaner headliner at the yard. Noticed the entire sunroof assembly looked brand new so I took that too. just a bunch of screws really. the most difficult part I had was with the clips -- getting them just right for a flush sit.

make sure you watch all the cables - double check them before you reinsert the headliner

And the headliner is easy to get in and out if you slide it behind the seatbelt pillar on one side, and then lift the other up into place.

I think that day with everything I grabbed it was like $80. ...It might have been an LKQ half off everything day.

where are you located? I still have the other sitting here.
