California Duster VS Dusty Dash / Interior

Has anyone used a California Duster to dust their dash/interior? Any side effects? Pros/Cons?

I've thought about buying the small dash one....but that's as far as I've gotten. I do use the regular one for the exterior & it works well.

Now you have me wondering.....I bought the smaller version and I have had mix results.
I purchased it for the exterior of the car but it seems to actually leave little bits of red lint on the car from the duster fibers?
Stupid me, maybe it's for the interior?

If there is dust on my car, I will usually leave it until the next wash. Dust won't be any issue to the paint surface, but once it comes in contact with anything that is dragging it along the paint (e.g. dusting the car), then that is when it will act as a microabrasive. YMMV, but silver is usually the easiest color to hide paint defects. I will definitely not recommend using it on a black or dark colored car. The safest way to remove dusting is to wash it, or to use a quick detailer with a microfiber and employing a scooping motion in straight lines on the dusty surface.

The California dusters have an electrostatic charge that actually picks up the dust. Granted in using them you do have to "mop" them across the surface of the car to remove the dust but personally I'd rather have a clean car than a dusty one. And being that I now live in California, my car stays dusty all the time so I get a lot of use out of mine. I also use the claybar every 2nd or 3rd wash to help remove any little microbes that I can't see but I know are present.

I always use the California duster after a drive and before I drive (if the car is in only dusty and not dirty)... I drive a black car and I HAVE to keep it clean

Don't do it, it leaves lint big time!

Is it also true that the waxed strands leave a residue? Thought I read that some where.

Just be sure to wash them prior to using them.

It will leave wax residue the first couple times you use it, after that it won't leave any residue. The product actually states that the dirtier the brush gets the better it cleans, and I would agree with that statement.

I use this on my car every several days to get the light dust off and it works great.

I've used the car duster on my black & white Maximas....no issues with the paint in those. My black maxima was the reason why I bought my first duster. People would come up to me & compliment me on how nice the car looked.
