HP on a BMW 528?

Just a quick question since I raced one. We went at it from 70-110, I got half a car jump, but the 528 kept the same distance till 110. Not sure if it was a 528 or the new 530.

The 528i makes 190hp and 206lb/ft. It is available with either manual or automatic. 0-60 time is about the same as a Maxima, with the same transmission type.

BMW 528i 0-60 in 7.6 sec. 193HP, 206TQ, 3495 lbs.
4th gen Maxima 0-60 in 6.9 sec. 190HP, 205TQ, 3010 lbs.

Taking all this into consideration Maxima should be a little faster.

My Dad's got a '98 528. He can't touch my Max in any acceleration test, I top out 10 mph higher too. I think it kinda ****es him off my car is faster and will corner better, but I have to admit that his feels a whole lot better to make go fast

Are you comparing an automatic 528 with a 5-spd 4th gen?? Same transmission, they are about the same speed. Even though the BMW only has 2.8 liters, it is a suprisingly powerful engine. In the 3-series, which weights 3300-3500 lbs, that little engine zips a manual equipped 328 to 60MPH in under 7 seconds. The 5-series doesn't weigh much mroe, and should do 0-60 in 7 seconds as well with the manual 528i.

I remember the other day I saw this new 525i (yes the 184hp 2.5L 5-series) ahead of me, and it was pretty fast. I wasn't exactly flooring it, but was pushing the throttle pretty hard and that 525 was pulling away from me! I was like whoa...must have been a manual!

Interesting, I should race one to find out
Yeah that 525i must have been a 5-speed, or maybe a rebadged 540i?

That would be awesome to see a 528i with an HP printer on the roof...I bet it's good for an additional 100 HP (Horse Power, not Hewlett Packards )

I like that idea. This way you can let everyone on the road know what you feel about them

April 20th is the first date. Did you really order a 530?

That is the time for the automatic 528i. The manual 528i does 0-60 in 6.8 secs.

They are the same engines between 3 and 5 series, except the M's and the 540.

I'm going to start shopping in 3 months. I am very picky when it comes to chosing the color and options, but what I must have is the sports package. I'm gonna go with either cosmos black or topaz blue exterior and black or grey interior. Everything else is not that important for me...oh and I want xenon angel eyes too
