Reason for 2k2 6-Speed Hesitation, and it's not what you might think...
After talking to one of my friends who drives a VR6 GTI he said he had similar problems with hesitation if he jumped into the throttle from a roll. Today he found something on a VR6 forum to fix the problem. The VR6 has variable intake runners just like our cars. They say it is the delay in the time it takes the computer to adjust the intake runners for max performance. This isn't a function of throttle by wire as we first thought. The product on the link below is supposed to ease the problem, for VR6's. Maybe someone will come up with something for us. Now I can rest a little easier knowing that this is a feature not a failure.
Thanks
Steve
Look toward the bottom at the k-Star product.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong here. But the intake runners only start to switch over after the RPMs get up there. 3000 or 4000?? So basically they have nothing to do with your off the line hesitation.

It's right in the 3k to 4k range too.

Not a hesitation, but a surge
I haven't experienced any hesitation, but there is a surge of power between 3800-4000 RPM. I notice it most between 1/2 & 3/4 throttle. When I'm not changing the throttle position the extra surge catches me off guard sometimes and makes it feel as if the car was dragging before.

When I drove the 6-speed, I noticed the hesitation from a roll, so....
What I did was just rev the motor(clutch in) to 5K and dump the clutch at a roll, it will spin a bit, but no LAG
Wait, this was on a test drive by myself....
NOT RECOMMENDED IF YOU PLAN TO BUY THE VEHICLE

Are you guys sure that this hesitation is not the same as the "fuel cut" hesitation/bucking found on the 2K and 2K1 models? The fuel cut on those models is caused by the ECM screwing around with the IAC valve and even though the 2K2 is drive by wire, the ECM logic might be similar to the 2K and 2K1.
Don't hold your breath for a fix from Nissan. I fought for over a year on my 2K about the fuel cut along with others before Nissan finally released the TSB for it, and I am still in dealings with Nissan over this issue. Hope the 2K2 works out better in this respect, but my confidence isn't high for that unfortunately.
