Can you use amps in bose system with another headunit?

I have a 1998 Infiniti I30 with the bose system. I want to put new heads and new component fronts in. I have a two channel power amp and was wondering if I could keep the rear speakers and the amps for the rear speakers. Anyone have any success with this? And if not what would you recommend for a top of the line rear that would fit the backs?

If you're looking for a top of the line rear, you have money, so why would you want to keep the stock speakers? Many good systems don't have rears at all. Lots of people (myself included) think they destroy imaging.

But this belongs in the audio forum.
