Front tires keep losing air

Every since I bought my car both front tires have been losing air at the same rate and I have to keep putting air in them every couple of days and it's really annoying..Do you guys know why this is happening? At first I assumed that they were all put on at the same time because they match, but now that I think about it maybe they replaced just 2 at some point and now the other 2 are old.. They have a lot of tread but i can see little cracks on the side.. If they need to be replaced and I still have warranty on the car do you think they would replace them for free?

Its dirt/corrosion/crap on the valve stems. If you go to a tire shop, they can just break the bead, remove the stems and clean them. They have the tire pressure sensors so they need to be careful. I had to do this to ine of mine. Easy cheap fix.

Have a tire repair shop do a leak test on both tires. If they are leaking that much they will find it fast and fix it if they can. It could also be your rims. You can compare the build dates of the tires to see how old your tires are, its located on the sidewall. A trip to the tire shop to get it the problem diagnosed would be your first step.

If you believe the tires have been changed then the car's manufactures warranty will not apply. New tires come with a warranty for replacement and then it is on a prorated basis as to the mileage that is left on the tire.

I think weather, along with the weight of the engine being on the front end helps to deplete the air pressure within the tires too. I have that problem also but I noticed that it is never in the back tires.

This is not normal behavior. I've never had a car do that before. I'd think bad valve or bad tires, even bad rims...but certainly far from normal.

Agree. My '09 was built in Sept 2008, and I can go three or more months before finding my tires (all four of them) maybe down a pound or less. The only exception would be in the fall when we have the big drop in outside temps. At that time. the psi in tires will drop several pounds, but that is to be expected.

I carry 37 psi in front, and 35 psi in rear, so am never near the 28 or so psi that triggers the TPMS.

Just purchased a 2013 and am disappointed to have the same issue with my front tires. Drove 11 hours yesterday and they were fine for the entire trip but this morning had to top them up again.

I've read the OEM Goodyear Eagles aren't exactly the best tires on the road and have already started looking to upgrade even though there's plenty of tread remaining.

I suspect the most likely culprit may be that the valve cores are either loose or bad. I have a tool similar to the smaller of the two in the link below. Even if it ends up being something else, they are nice tools to have around.

Tire valve cores are one of the first things I would check also. I still have a few of those old style valve caps that have a valve core tightener on top, and I tighten the cores with that.

In the old days (1940s, 1950s, etc), I would cover the valve stem opening with a glob of spit (dishwashing fluid would be cleaner), and if the bubble at the mouth raises even the tinest fraction of a millimeter, the valve core is leaking.

I'm wondering if everyone dealing with this are still on their OEM's?

My 2011 SV just had a tpms signal a few days ago. Im on 40k miles now and the temps just dropped here in Vegas from the 100s to the 60s so i juiced em back up to 33-35 because they were a little low. I dont think i have a leak but will keep an eye on it and this thread. Thanks all.

My 2012 Maxima

I live in New England and I found out that works really good in my case is filling my tires up with Nitrogen air . I run the psi at 33 perfect if you running on eibach springs.
