I thought the 17" SE rims were supposed to fit but the distance between the rotor and rims is minimal (I can barely put 1 finger + a pinky in between). Is this safe for winter driving? No chance the rotor and rim may somehow touch?

 

If you tighten the bolts and the wheels turn and go around completely, you're good.

So the rim and rotor being so close won't negatively affect brakes?

You will be just fine, this has been done numerous time already, just drive it and don't think abt it,

 

Sugar in the gas tank usually helps
