So I bought some 15mm hubcentric spacers for the rear wheels from ebay (chaching8899 to be precise) - seemed like a good idea at the time $52 shipped.

Well, 6 months later - I notice this crack all around the ring on both sides and it looks like the ring is barely attached to the spacer to begin with - probably clearance issues due to it being a 15mm spacer. And this is the better side, the other side I forgot to take pictures but you can pick the hubcentric ring right off.....




But I do like the more flushed wheel much better. Do any of you guys who get like the Ichiba or H&R spacers ever have the hubcentric ring plain sheer off? Are these spacers totally wasted? I actually still have them on b/c I read somewhere that it's the studs that are weight-bearing.

 

Did you have the wheel torqued to the ring at 80ft/lb?

 

non brand name hubcentric under 10mm (no hub ring lip) are ok
if it is greater than 10mm (has a hub centric lip ring) i wouldn't go away from brand names for good reasons

i would replace them asap with better quality

for your reference i got no name 5mm spacers for 55$ on ebay that I am totally happy with,
IIRC most quality 15mm spacers are $80 and up

so you found really "cheap" ones IMO

 

FWIW, I ran 15/25mm no name spacers with separate hub centering rings without issue for over a year. Always torqued to 85ft/lbs.

I sold them since I didn't need them with the wheels seen in my sig and the buyer had no issues either.

 

good to know for sure! what were ur hub rings made of? what kind of brand? no name?, but his case is definately different with the product actually starting to break with the hairline cracks.

i use plastic ring adapters to match the aftermarket wheels to my hub, but that's different than the hub lip on spacers which is still needed regardless of the ring adapters.

 

I've had my 2J Racing 10/15 spacers on for 2+ years now, and they're still doing great even after track days and R comp tires. Support the little guys, 2JR makes great stuff!
