Has anyone installed them? DaveB isn't sure if the gas pedal assembly will fit. I'd like to get confirmation before I order.

Not sure about that one, I thought it would not fit since they went to the new DRIVE BY WIRE on the gas pedal. I dont know how that would work at all.

Yeah, I'm hoping that you can swap the pedal and not the entire assembly.

 

I have heard of problems with the gas pedals fitting (auto) our 2002 but the guy was able to get it on. I'm not sure of this, but I think either the 2002 6spd or 6spd w/HLSD come with the stainless pedals which would be a better fit than th A.E. pedals.

Here's a pst with them on a 2002 6 spd. I have them laying in a box for mine but haven't gotten a chance to put them on. I don't see why the gas pedal wouldn't fit, I don't think the lever assembly changed - the car just doesn't have a throttle cable anymore.

The gas "lever" is quite a bit different. The old 3.0 maxima had a hook up for teh throttle wire and the new 2002 has a hook up for the drive by wire sensor.


The solution (as said in the search results above) is to remove the pedals from the levers and install just the pedal on your lever.


Just wait for the 2002 HLSD pedals to come out, they should be out any day.

 

I installed my 20th AE pedals today. I just removed the gas pedal and it clips right on. The only thing i had to do was fill in the gap with the sleave that was around the AE lever because my lever was not as large of a diameter. Otherwise it was cake. It didn't take more than 10-15 mins.

I was wondering if the dead pedal off the new 350Z will fit the Maxima's. It's a perfect match. Here's a pic if you don't know what i mean. http://www.nissannews.com/nissan/pr_...z120tran01.jpg

How did you get the gas leaver off?

 

There is a little clip on the back of the pedal on the top. All you have to do is grab a flat-head screwdriver and pop it off. The bottom half of the pedal just pivots on the lever and then slides right out. The majority of the time was needed for the brake pedal which took some elbow grease to get on.

Sounds simple I read someplace else the brake pedal was a bit$h to put on That's good news because ebay had an auction on the kit but, instead of the whole gas assembly it was just the metal gas pedal and brake cover.

 

It better come with a new clip and a plastic sleave, otherwise it will be very loose.
