Acetone in my gas 7th gen

Ok guys I know this sounds stupid but it works ... I added Acetone In my gas and got more miles per gallon and the car has more pep to it .. Not to many people know about this , by adding Acetone to your gasoline it will bring up the octain wich results in more power, driving at speeds 55 or more I barely touch the pedal and car takes off real quick.. If you don't feel comfortable doing this to your car try this on your parents cars.. Have fun

Sure because auto manufacturers haven't figured this out with 100+ years of experience in engineering and testing. You've figured it out. Also, nice idea of trying it on someone else's car if you don't want to screw yours up!

Real answer to acetone:

"If adding acetone increases fuel efficiency by even 10% that means that 10% more of the fuel is being burned, which in turn means that without acetone no more than 90% of the fuel is burning, and 10% is being exhausted as unburned hydrocarbons. This is demonstrably not true. Most cars already have a combustion efficiency of > 98%. Therefore there is very little room for improvement, and any claim for more than a 1-2% increase in efficiency by this method is simply not plausible. Further, gasoline and diesel already have a very low surface tension – so there isn’t much room for improvement.
hod I would think that the auto industry would be all over it. "

I don't know how old you are but back in late 70's and 80's most race cars ran off pure Acetone.. So I don't know where your coming from or going with this .. Acetone will not hurt anyone's car .. I'm not telling anyone to this , you can try this .. If you want measurements.. Add 5 ounces per every 10 gallons.. I know for a fact your gonna try this in your own car .. Most idiots buy there boost octain bottle from auto zone, pep boys and from other auto part store , little that you know nothing but Acetone.. Just think how can you put pure octain in a bottle ? Stupid? The only thing that brings up octain level in gasoline is Acetone,,

My 67 year old dad has been doing this to his cars for a bit, but he only does it once in a while to clean it out. I personally have not tried it.

you really believe that .. Just like Marvel mystery oil , humm , it's funny how they have used this method in the military for years.. I guess our military isn't that bright.. many things work but some don't want you to know about

Are their any meaningful numbers here or are you just experiencing something you think you believe?

1) 187 it just seemed like a dumb thing to say without data.
2) try it on your parents car? How old are 18? I'm a grown man and don't want to ruin my parents car!
3) again I do know a lot about racing as I had
friends that ran rail cars and dragsters in the '90's as well as watching Formula 1 for 30 years
4) it seemed overall childish and ill thought out.

Good luck and enjoy your nail polish remover. I'll stick with 93 since I don't track or drag my family car.

I think your being childish, I don't force anyone to do anything , and referring to your parents car I was only being sarcastic , it just shows your level of intelligence, if you're so smart why are you even here , you should work with engineering for NASA .. It looks like you have an answer for everything.. If You don't like what I post don't comment .. You post your 4 commandments I can see you don't have much of a life .. Take a chill pill

You're posting this like you have facts.

Others are chiming in to keep others from believing your bs.

It's for the greater good.

If no one stepped in someone might have believed you...can't have that.

Only facts I need from your genius is proved to me by reading your past threads.
This is as pointless as the others and now you're trying to drive the point home by saying I'm not a man because of my avatar?
Wednesday's **** is probably bigger than yours is when fully erect. I hear acetone makes it grow.
Or is it an innie because your cold? *** clown.

Good luck in life.

And sorry but the military does not add crap to the fuels that they run in their equipment. As a track vehicle and heavy wheeled vehicle mechanic for 12 years we never put anything but what was required. Have a good day.

By the way I wasn't looking to spar with you verbally. It just seems you put something on here that was random and perhaps ill thought out. My point is you said try it on your parents car. That leads me to believe you are young and live at home. I'm neither. Try a different forum maybe flightofidieas.com or streamofconsciousness.com the next time you decide to type a thought you have.(these are jokes about your thought process). Good luck and thanks for the history on the internal combustion engine.
By the way, the military uses an overwhelming amount of diesels vs. gas. Usually called JP-8 but also F-76. Cheers. Out.

Plenty of proven facts around that show doing this will NOT increase your mileage, manufacturers have stated that you WILL void your warranty and you will start tearing up your seals with this. Now, this thread has devolved from a discussion to name pointing and is now closed.
