can I use a sandwich plate?

can I use a sandwich plate?

I want to install a oil pressure guage. And working on my turbo project I know I'll need a oil return line. So can I use a universal oil filter sandwich plate with the oil guage n return line?

And I don't have to mess with factory oil sensor

Return line needs to go to the pan. You can run a sandwich Plate for feed and gauge if will clear the firewall. Other option is relocation for the filter.

I went with an electric unit and decided to keep the stock setup too. Fabricated a mount/bracket to the motor mount and mounted the entire setup down it all down out of the way.

james...i opted for SS instead of brass.
i don't want that stuff to get hot and breaking off. good idea with the bracket.

Why two outlets?

The benefit of electric is you don't have to have an oil line running into your cabin. If you were asking me the measurement I'm not sure what specific measurement you're referring to. The stock pressure switch fitting is a somewhat goofy size (I can't remember the size offhand) which is why I had to use two adapters there. Most people just crossthread their new line into the stock threads but I wanted to use the correct threaded fittings.

Dan - I didn't even think to check for this stuff in SS, but that's a good idea. It was hard enough tracking down all these little fittings and adapters anyway though and don't recall seeing any SS options, but of course I wasn't looking either so may have just missed them.

Where's the turbo return line? I hope this isn't what you're using this small hose for! You really don't need a return line on an oil pressure reading device! You need 1 hose that incorporates a restrictor that's it! I don't know where the return line is dumping the oil but if it's the oil pan you never read the correct pressure!

Are you talking to me or Tony?

My return setup is completely separate from the stuff in my pictures. My pictures only show the feed line going to the turbo

If you picture that radiator hose being twisted clockwise that's what I did. It moved that bend in the radiator hose up and created quite a bit of clearance. That picture was from when I was mocking things up
