OEM 5th gen speaker specs anyone?

Does anyone have specs on non-BOSE factory speakers for 5th gen? I am sure all non-BOSE cars have the same speakers in their doors, whether equipped by a 60-watt AM/FM/tape headunit, or a 120-watt AM/FM/tape/CD unit.

Uhh.. if that's the case how come mine has tweeters in the front A-pillars? Granted it's not good but it's still a tweeter nevertheless.

I was just kidding

He was referring to the speaker in the door, not in the pillar.

Well, I haven't pulled out the tweets yet,,,but I am gonna this weekend. I have, however, pulled the others out. They were all the same:
Clarion name brand, 30 watts, of course paper cones, and a magnet that weighs about 2 ounces.....hehe I'm sure the tweeters follow along with those specs too.

Hope this helps......DMAN

I wish someone put up their tech specs, the output in Hz...to compare against aftermarket speakers..Cause this sales guy at a local store told me that there was one speaker where I wouldnt notice a difference..

It will be almost impossible to find specs on these speakers. Does it really matter? Just listen to the speaker you want to buy and make a decision off of that. Don't buy the 6" speaker because it goes down to say 55hz just like the oem speaker does.

Oopsie!

Anyhow, yep. Like Maximadave says, get what you want not based on what was there but rather, base it on what should be there.

And oh, yeah the OEM tweets are definitely not of the quality you'd think. That thing is like a piece of paper with a metal sheet in the center!

guys I dont have tweets, my car came with a 4-speaker setup and a radio/tape 60-watt headunit!

You guys are right- it doesnt make sense to buy anything unless you listen to it. But how am I supposed to pick a pair of speakers someone sells thru .org, if these are not carried at the stores?

I am in hige dilemma right now, I am trying to save for rims, new fogs, tint, components and speakers, and can't prioritize JACK. Obviously I can't find components under 100 bucks, so I thought might as well replace rears. Someone on the .org is selling brand new Cerwin Vega Stealth Series ss 262 6.5 2-ways and a pair of PPI's 65.1, I still cant make up my mind what should do. I need to get a life...tonite I am gonna get my drink on.

If all else fails check out Carreview.com, Epinions.com and the newsgroups (If you don't have access, use Google's Groups) to check out the reviews of the speaker set sold through the Org.

Should it be okay i'd like to suggest you go this order:
1) Component/Speakers (Fronts first, that will make the most noticeable change) - First bcoz you stay in the car most of the time.

2) Tint - With summer coming you need this.

3) Fogs - It's also cheap. I wouldn't necessarily change it though. It's not like you really drive through fog all the time.

4) Rims - by the time you saved up for it you've had pretty much used your current rims effectively.

Btw, the CV Stealths are pretty good. Have nice midrange punch to it. I had a set of CV Stealth comps in front and 6x9's in the back and i've always been asked if i have a sub of some sort in the back - which i don't.
