Anyone replace their engine room harness on a vg?

Just curious if anyone has replaced their complete engine room harness on a vg with improved performance/results.

Why would replacing the wiring harness provide any performance benefits?

Don't see why the replacement of the harness would be much different from the VE, and the VE isn't very difficult to swap out at all

i thought i read someone posting about a month ago with a wiring problem wanting to know if it was worth swapping the whole harness with a junkyard car and it was mentioned it sucks to change. might be wrong

I've pulled a vg harness before. Its not all that bad but swapping a complete harness from used to used doesn't make a ton of sense. Being that our harnesses are over 20 yrs old I thought maybe it would be an improvement and provide much better continuity. My idle has been hunting a little sometimes with a bit of a misfire and I noticed when wiggling or moving the injector leads/wires it effects the idle and starts to mis. which seems to be the culprit. Just touching or moving the wires shouldn't be causing that? I could understand disconnecting it. I also had to put a new connector with pigtail I got from a yard on my tps and noticed when doing the splice how green the copper was under the insulation when stripping the wires. So I'm debating just doing the front sub harness for the injectors which seem to be the worst and swapping it with the 93-94 injector connectors or just swap the entire harness.

I had problems with my injector connectors about three yrs ago and I picked up some small gold plated speaker spade terminals from advance auto and made up a pigtail. The small connectors fits the injector perfectly and I seal the injector with silicone to prevent moisture. I have not had a problem since.

Actually not a bad idea Tiniform to create a good solid connection. Were you still able to give it a clean look? Would you happen to have any pics.? The idea sounds good but after cleaning up the engine bay I'd like to keep a nice clean look but for functionality it sounds like a great idea. Not to mention those gold plated connectors won't corrode like the stock ones either. Thanks for the idea.

It is a cheap easy fix that works well. Of course you sacrifice on the look but in my case, it is not a sore eye in the engine bay.
I don't know how to upload pics on here with my phone.

So to my suprise i went to my local nissan and they were still able to get the injector sub harness for my front 3 cylinders 2,4 and 6 which is plug and play so i will probably just splice in the new or newer connectors on the back 3 cylinders. They are corrosion free that i pulled off the bimmer. They were the same old bosch style connectors that are on our older 3rd gens. I was thinking about doing the upgrade Cmax had done a thread on but being my injectors are only just over a year old it seemed kind of a waste atleast for now. Even though they wont have the simple squeeze and pull quick release i shouldn't have to worry about them for quite some time so i think i can deal with the metal retaining clips for now.
