Hey Whats up everyone im new to the nissan game. i just bought an 08 maxima 3.5 se, and i was hearing that this car burns motor oil like no tommorrow. Im researching on what brand of oil is recommended for my car, i want the finest quality. But whatevr i choose to get will be the one ill use from then on so it has to be a prime recommendation for my maxima. Does it have to be a nissan branded product?
Or can it be anything else?
And how many quarts would i need specifically for my car?
Oh also how many miles until i would need another oil change?

 

I have an 04 maxima which requires 4.25 quarts when changing the oil so your 08 should be the same.

I have been using castrol synthetic or Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil but i have no preference.

My maxima also leaks or burns oil cause I get a low oil reading 1500 miles after oil changes.
