Aux Port on 2012 Maxima SV - Preium

Shopping for a used Maxima and finally getting my head around the feature difference between S, SV, SV+Premium/Sport, and the Tech Pack, but one thing I am unsure of is if the particular car I am looking at comes with a RCA Jack or 3.5mm AUX port.

I am looking at a 2012 SV + Premium. It has Bose, RearView cam, and Nav. It lists USB port under the features but no Aux port. The 2011's I was looking at listed RCA ports. Did these get dropped in 2012 and later models?

Is there an alternative way I can connect my Android phone either through bluetooth or through the USB to stream Pandora and Spotify off my phone?

Thanks.

it it's a Premium + Tech, you should get bluetooth audio streaming. My 2011 has those packages and has the bluetooth streaming audio. If you don't have the the tech package, I believe you don't get bluetooth streaming. So keep that in mind.

my base 2012 SV has the ports. You cant get music from your phone to usb unfortunately. BB Music Gateway works for getting bluetooth streaming going but you need the aux ports.

Thanks for the replies. Good to hear the bluetooth should work. That is what I have read elsehwhere as well.

@mikekay I am a bit confused by your post. You say it works with bluetooth but you still need the aux ports? Are you just saying that the aux port would be nice, or that it is somehow necessary to get bluetooth streaming working?

@maximase I notice your Maxima has the glass roof. I still don't understand which package exactly comes with that, and too often the pictures online don't show the roof so you don't know whats going on up there. Is it the singe or double sunroofs that have the glass roof or is it based on something else entirely?

So mine is the 'double' sunroof, or the panoromic sunroof. If you get an SV with Premium package, you get what I have. All others is the standard single sunroof.

Cool. Yes that is what I am getting SV+Premium with double sunroof. The dealership I am working with is bringing the car in from a sister dealership in Dallas to their location in San Antonio. The car should be here tomorrow. Hopefully if all goes well and the car is as in good of condition as it looks online I will be riding in style by this time tomorrow. Will be a nice upgrade from my 2006 Jetta.

I had a Maxima rental car for a week when I put my Jetta in the shop for a new catalytic converter, so I got to spend a good amount of time getting familiar with the car, and really liked how it drove. I test drove a 2015 Jetta, a 2010 Infinity G37, and 2014 Ford Taurus Limited as well. Those are the cars I like the most aesthetically and feature wise. The Taurus packs a ton of features but seems to have a really narrow of field of view through the front windshield and just feels sluggish. The G37 is very sporty and fun to drive but has a cramped interior and lacks many of the features the Maxima has. The Jetta was okay, but nothing to write home about. I really think I am making the right choice, and can't wait to close this deal tomorrow. (Just need to be sure to hide my enthusiasm from the dealer, lol)

One questoin on the Gas which I know is a oft covered topic, but in your opinion is 91 Octane fine or should I go with the highest available (93). Here in Texas the grades available are 87, 91, or 93.

I put premium in mine. It's 92 here.

Funny you should mention renting a Maxima. When I was Houston back in 2014, I rented a Maxima for two weeks. Even drove it to San Antonio. Loved it. 6 months later I bought my 2011. Funny thing you're coming from a Jetta. I just bought a 2015 Golf Sportwagen a month and a half ago. I love that car. Though that is on the newer MQB chassis compared to the current Jetta.

Well I was all set to buy the car tonight at the price I had negotiated, when the finance guy tells me that since they aren't a Nissan Dealership the certified warranty goes out the window and I will need to shell out $2,600 if I want a 4 year warranty on it. I told them no way, and they came down to $1,900 but I still refuse this deal. Feels like a total bait and switch. They wait to the last second to tell me the certified warranty won't apply and then try and sell me on their crappy 3rd party warranty. So pissed right now.

I told them I would sleep on it. I think I am going to go in there and tell them I want $2000 off otherwise I will just drive to Houston (4 hour drive) to get one with the same features that is certified and from a Nissan Dealer.

Only difference with the one in Houston is its a 2011 instead of 2012 and it has a clean Carfax where this car has a minor accident reported. Otherwise they have similar mileage and identical price and features.

Does the 2011 have streaming audio bluetooth with premium + tech?

Yup, it does. Mine is a 2011 and has it. Also I believe 2011 Premium is the last year to have one touch on all windows instead of just the front two of the 2012+. There are also other minor differences on the exterior between 2011 and 2012 mainly with the tail lights and the grille.

Thanks,

S

Well went back to the Dealer today. They ended up going down on the price on the extended 3rd party warranty and upping the amount on my trade in until they got within $10 of the monthly payments I originally had planned on, and we made a deal. Here she is:

To my surprise the car had RCA jacks and USB port in the center console and has Bluetooth. Really happy about that as now I can use the RCA jacks for music from my phone and use bluetooth for handsfree calling.

This is the first car that I have owned that has actually gotten me interested in the performance of the vehicle. Will probably go get it a KNN filter tomorrow. LOL, I'm a noob I know. But I really want to take care of this baby! I will be driving it for at least the next 5 years afterall!

I kind of want to get it a Cold Air Intake and Exhaust. More for the sound than anything but moar power would be nice too!

Thanks for the help guys.
