RL Rear Sway Bar snapped

Hi everybody,

My racingline rear sway bar snapped. I've had it on my car for about 4 to 5 years. I wanted to find out if this happened to anyone else with a racingline rear sway bar or a stillen rear sway bar. It doesn't seem like it would be a common occurence.

Thank you

Useless without pictures.
Where did it snap?
What were you doing when it happened?
What setting was it on?

Is that CA where you live? I don't imagine you see salty winters.

I have nearly 70k miles over 3 years on mine with no problems.

I was thinking the same thing. Would be good to know those answers as well as seeing some pictures. I've put nearly 60k miles on my car since I put the sawybar on.

Can't find the thread on the Altima forums, but I believe they updated very recently as there was a design flaw causing the rear sway bar to snap. Not sure if it was isolated to only the Altima sway bars, but hopefully TAZ came chime in. He is the person running the entire company.

I live in California.

Where did it snap?
Snapped on the left side of the driver side sway bar bushing.
What were you doing when it happened?
I was driving out of Walmart. I had an empty 60 gallon tank in the rear passenger seat and I have 2 12" subs in the trunk.
What setting was it on?
It was on stiff

***Pics = I will upload pictures after I get home from work today.

Stillen Re-did their design

To date I've had 3 snap out of about 500 bars. All 3 were replaced under warranty

Update:

I just wanted to let everyone know that I contacted RL and they replied to my email within 1 day(Great customer service). He asked me to send in pictures to assess the damage and start the warranty process. I was late on getting the pictures to him(took it yesterday) and I just sent them to him right now.

I will provide another update after I receive a response from Taz.

Great to hear someone on here praising RL for what they do when a situation pops up. I have bought from them a few times without issue, and they try to make things right. We always here someone b*tching on here with half the story about a vendor from time to time which gets old.
