I really miss my car
I really miss my car
Thread says it. The jerk crapped out on June 6th and has been sitting at a shop since June 17th waiting on them to put in junkyard transmission I got. Keep riding by the shop to see if it is still out in the lot waiting to get fixed. It is.
Driving my moms Pontiac Vibe GT and its ok. It is a cool little car, but I sure do miss a V6. Really grateful for supportive family and friends. I hate depending on others tho.
Bummed I am. I now realize how very few things I dislike about the car. Nicest car I have ever or ever will own. Was really hoping for 300,000mi from this car. Oh well...such is life I guess.

Hang in there! So glad you have the support! I know how much it bothered me just to have the body shop repair front fenders and bumpers from suicidal raccoons and tire carcass.
I know it is little consolation, but sharing your story has educated me that there IS a cvt filter, the pan does have a magnet, and removing/replacing the pan is straight forward. From a person who is a bit diligent in preventive car care ( my bride calls it ****) I thank you and am replacing the filter, cleaning the pan replacing the ns-2 (not drain and fill, but purging a quart at a time until clear) I know some will call into question the wisdom or efficacy of doing this on a 7th gen with 291,000, that has only had drain and fills every 60k before, but your story has inspired me both as a cautionary tale and that "stuff happens" and as an educational exercise that I must perform (being a hillbilly from the Ozarks of Missouri.)
Best of luck and hope you don't have to wait too long. I look forward to reading of the results of your efforts and learning of any ecm issues you may face.
