Advice for changing the cloth on the Center Console?

I've had my max for a while now and i noticed the felt(???) on the middle arm rest is wearing out where my elbow sits at. I thought about going to the JY and doing some swap but i figure it's probably easier to just take the cloth off replacing it.

Anyone have any advice on doing this? I got it screwed off and am about to take the cloth cover off, but any advice on what type of material or what type of place to go to to get it done.

I'm in the ashy grey max with the grey on grey on grey interior.

Any color or material suggestions? Anything that won't melt my skin off in this 90 degree florida weather.

You can use lots of materials. Go to a fabric store and buy any sort of stretchy type soft material (jersey type), and pull it tight right over the top. This method doesn't require any stitching or anything if you use a semi-stretchy material.

Heck, you could even use a t-shirt or something. Or fabric speaker cover material. I've done all of the above on Hondas with very great results.

If yours were leather, you could get a new replacement from redlinegoods.com. Not sure if they sell cloth ones. But their leather covers fit very well and are high quality. I have one in my black VE.

Thanks james92se. Went to this place called JOANN'S and they were having a 4th of july sale. Ended up getting 2.4 yards of red vinyl for $11 (originally would have been something like $25).

Kind of an impulse buy. I have no idea what to do now. I've been looking on youtube and i might try to use a heat gun and some apoxy and see if i can do it myself.

If i fail completely i may see how much an upholsterer will cost.

If it's too much i'll probably try again.

Will keep you guys updated.
