Stranded and need help now: Key fob not working

Hey folks, bit of an emergency.

I am currently out of country (Mexico) and had disconnected the negative side of the batter to work on my 2012 Maxima. I connected everything back up and now the car will not start at all. I have tried with my key fob in my hand as well as inserting it in the port. I have looked up on how to reprogram as well, but the steps provided do not appear to apply as I cannot remove the fob from the port to press a key while it is inserted.

Ended up being a couple of issues all.

Bad battery cable connection both at connector and on post. Had to replace the connector and clean post. Apparently removing it and placing it exactly in the same place and tightening up was not providing enough connection to power the car completely and allow the fob to connect and allow me to start the car.

Battery in fob was getting low. I changed this before examining the battery cable so not sure how much this contributed.

Thanks for the replies all. Was a tough weekend getting home due to our issues with the Maxima as well.

glad you were able to make it home, could have been worse, and more expensive
