SR with a glass roof or Platinum with camel interior

Does anyone think Nissan will offer either an SR with glass roof or the camel interior that's offered in the SR in a Platinum? I have written to Nissan twice now, but always get the same standard answer, which does not answer the question directly. Thanks

Well if you can't get an answer directly from the company that makes the car, chances are that nobody here will be able to give you an answer either.

I would guess the answer is no for 2016. However, i will bet that they will add ,at a minimum, a solid glass panel to the SR in the future. Maybe a regular moonroof but not the panoramic roof.

My thought in posting this was 2 fold: possibly there are some long term forum members that have good insight or, possibly Nissan themselves monitors this forum and they could see the level of interest regarding this question. I have learned, it never hurts to ask questions. Thanks for your feedback.

I would guess steevo's response is as good as we will get here. Nissan never tips their hand. I think steevo may be correct that there will eventually be a glass top or moonroof for the SR, but never a double-panel roof, which is rather heavy because of all the moving parts involved.

The camel is the only color interior I like on the 8th gen, but is only available on the SR at present. I would not be surprised to see camel made available on the 8 1'2 gen in the Platinum and SL. But who knows?

I'm betting steevo is on the money, they probably will use moonroof from the 7th gen. that alone would make the SR, SV and S far more attractive to some buyers if they offer it later in the product cycle. It is still shocking some people that you went from a model that all had some type of sunroof from S to SV Sport to only various trims in its successor...

I agree in them eventually either allowing the Camel interior to be had on the Platinum or offering a normal moonroof on the SR. I am interested in the Maxima and my first choice would be the SR, but every car I have ever owned had a sunroof and I love it and use it often... so that fact kinda sways me towards the Platinum, but I want all the sport goodies like the paddle shifters to somewhat make up for the lack of manual coming from my Altima. Plus I always told myself that each new car had to be an upgrade in features and can't loose anything compared to my old car.

Being that I am sure they watch this board...

Nissan.... fix this.

You are certainly correct that Nissan, as well as companies tied to Nissan, do read this board. I could prove that, but would then be chastized as badly as The Donald is enduring for airing Lindsay Graham's personal phone number on national TV. Suggestions such as AWD or 350 HP or manual trannies or RWD are not what they are looking for. They have no intention of invading Infiniti territory.

Camel colored interior available on other models than the SR? Some kind of glass on the SR? Those suggestions would be noted.

I think the basic sunroof will find its way to the SR. Thats a total guess, but I think they would since people are probably asking for it.
