As a matter of habit, I drive when we're together so I'll get more than enough seat time, lol. She was pretty set on the Charger or another BMW until she drove the Maxima. She didn't even like the new Mercedes more than the Maxima, which surprised the hell out of me.
Nice car. I was actually sold on the Charger as well. I wanted the Scat Pak which is apparently impossible to get. Since I couldn't afford the SRT or Hellcat I decided I would go for the car with the nicer interior and good performance. So far so good. Enjoy
The Passenger Fog light got hit by a piece of tire on the Hwy and there are no available parts to fix the mount. The light still works but it's recessed back about a half inch.
There are already rock chips popping up. 2 so far. When we took it back to Nissan for the oil change, the parts guy also said they don't paint the new cars as well as the older ones.
The biggest and and most irritating problem is the rear black trim moulding has broken away from the car by two retainers. The piece is still there but two of the retainer clips broke away after a freezing rain storm. From what I can tell, rain water got behind the moulding froze and broke lose two of the VERY THIN retainer clips. It's been 2 weeks so far and we have not gotten any word on when the part with be in.
I'll take better pictures but here's a reference pic.
The wife still loves the car and I enjoy driving it too.
You've had this car since last August and have just 3,000 miles on it? I would have had 10,000 by then if it were mine.
That piece of trim is an unusual place for a parts failure. Your theory of freezing rain water is probably correct, but you would think Nissan would have encountered that in their testing and fixed it.
My wife just corrected me and it's just under 7,000 miles. ..shows how much I pay attention.
Great car so far. I've been test driving a few more Nissans and I have to say the Maxima, 370 and the Armada are only three I really like. The trucks are especially uncomfortable. I haven't got to drive the new 4xpro diesel yet though.
I bought a Versa for my Mother in law mostly because I don't like her, lol.

I have the exact same problem with both of my rear black trim moulding, I think your theory about water freezing makes a lot of sense, I live in MN and maybe during the winter when I wash the car, water will get in that will freeze later. I had both of them replaced at the dealership today.
Good theory, but mine were broke when I picked up the car from the dealer -- here in Florida -- so its not due to freezing! Dealer thinks it was a car wash, but he was the only one that washed it. There is a thread on this problem, Nissan may get tired of replacing this trim.
