New would be Maxima owner from California. This will be my first Maxima. I have been doing research for couple months now, and on paper Maxima beats all other cars in every segment ( Power, Features, Looks ). I loved driving it for test drive too, but it was just few miles .

I will be buying car in a week, I am planning to get Platinum edition.

Did you guys buy any additional Warranty/Service or services and other maintains packages from dealer?

If yes can you please breakdown the details and list the price you paid for it.

Does it makes sense to buy maintains package ( regular oil change etc) from dealer? I am getting 4 years 50K miles for $1K.

Did you buy extra powertrain warranty ? How much you paid? Is it worth buying?

This is really great forum and I like all fellow Maxima owners and enthusiasts.

I purchased an extended 7 yr., 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty for $1,307.00. However, I do have a $100 deductible once the factory 3 yr., 36,000 mile warranty expires.


The dealer offered me a 10 yr., 150,000 mile powertrain warranty at no extra charge.

MSRP: $39,659.90, PAID: $37,307 (w/extended warranty), No service maintains package.
